Please note:

  • We do not provide a member of Hands-on Art staff to attend the party so the date, time and location is entirely at your convenience.

  • Items are subject to availability: we recommend ordering 14 days in advance to guarantee your specific chosen items are in stock, in case we need to order them in specially. 

How the "Take-Away" Painting Party works...

  • Purchase your party ceramics, please see list below.  Please note: these items are subject to availability according to what we have in stock at the time of your enquiry.  Therefore we recommend enquiring at least 14 days before the date you wish to collect your Kit (which may not be the same as the activity date) to guarantee they will be in stock & reserved for you... we may need to to order them in specially.

  • Rent a Take-Away Equipment Kit  Please note: there is a cash rental deposit required against damages/loss to the equipment kit items which is refunded - in full or in part - according to the state of the Kit contents when you return everything to the Studio.  Unfortunately prior experiences have made this a necessity.  The deposit  amount will vary according to the number of guests in your party e.g. for up to 10 people the deposit is £50.  The deposit is payable in cash on collection of the kit. 

  • Take everything with you on a pre-arranged collection date - up to and no later than 7 days in advance of your party.

  • Enjoy your painting party at your desired location: we will provide a "Top Tips" information sheet and "Before & After Glaze Colour Chart" to avoid any disappointment with the finished product.

  • Return your painted ceramics to the Studio and we will glaze and fire them for you

  • Collect your fired pottery from the Studio 2 weeks after the return date.

The cost per item includes:

  • The pottery item and the coloured glazes required to decorate the pottery. 

  • Back at the Studio: name of the artist and purchase date handwritten onto each pottery item with coloured glaze; application of transparent glaze (each pottery item is hand-dipped); cleaning the base of the pottery item of any coloured or transparent glaze, by hand, so it won't stick to the kiln shelf;

  • Firing the pottery item in the Studio kiln up to a temperature of 1000 degrees Celsius over 3 days. 

  • Packing the group of items into one box for collection from the Studio.

Take-Away Equipment Kit contents: (number of items provided according to your group size)

  • set of specialist pottery painting glaze colours

  • set of brushes: please clean and dry the brushes before dipping them into the glaze colour pots, every time; we will have to charge if the glaze paint pots are contaminated with other colours

  • water pots with lids

  • cloth for drying brushes

B: £16 each: small 4-sided vase or small flower pot;
C: £16 each: animal figures: various e.g. lion, sloth, llama, monkey, panda, crocodile, giraffe, koala;
D: £16 each: countryside animal/pet figures: various e.g. hedgehog, highland cow, fox, owl, cat, dog, frog, guinea pig.
E: £16 each: themed figures e.g: fairy, fairy door, princess; mermaid, seahorse, dolphin.
F: £18 each: small money banks: various e.g. robot, unicorn, dragon, rainbow, gingerbread man;
G: £20 each: star jar (separate photo attached);

Take-Away Party Booking Terms & Conditions:

These Terms & Conditions are at the discretion of Hands-on Art Adventures and are subject to change at any point, without notice, to ensure the smooth planning, organisation and running of your booked party.

  • All ceramic items are subject to availability unless pre-ordered at least 14 days before the agreed collection date (not the date of the party itself as these may differ).  These items must be paid for on booking your Take Away Kit. 

  • Payments for the ceramic items can be made in person at the Studio during our opening hours* by card or cash;  or by SumUp payment link sent via email.

  • Booking adjustments: up to 48 hours before the agreed collection date, items can be swapped or added subject to existing stock availability & payment is required for any additional costs.  Please note: items cannot be ordered from our suppliers within 14 days of the collection date.

  • Cancellation of the Take-Away Kit will automatically generate a credit note to the value of monies paid minus a £50 admin fee; reduced guest numbers at your event will automatically generate a credit note to the value of monies paid, provided the unpainted items are returned in their original condition.

  • Equipment Kit Rental Deposit: will be calculated according to the amount of equipment and glazes required for your group eg. for up to 10 people the deposit is £50.  This deposit is due on collection of the kit & party ceramics from the Studio.  This is a cash payment.  This deposit is required against damages/loss to the kit contents which is refunded - in full or in part - according to the state of the Kit contents when you return everything to the Studio ( including glaze pot contamination).  Unfortunately prior experiences have made this a necessity.

  • Collection: your fired pottery will be ready for collection two weeks after you return your Take Away Kit, as one package (you will be alerted before booking if collection will be affected by, for example, the annual Christmas holiday closure).

  • Please present your email booking when collecting your fired pottery - this proves these items belong to you.

  • Fired pottery must be collected no later than One months after returning your items to be fired, after which time we will assume you no longer want your items and will dispose of them for you.  We can arrange postage for an additional fee: this should be agreed within the three-month collection period.

  • We quality check every item when it comes out of the kiln, before we pack it ready for you to collect.  You are very welcome to unpack your pottery in the Studio before taking it home.  Unfortunately we cannot be held responsible for any damage that occurs to your pottery items once they have been taken from the Studio.
