Our strategy: by exploring key techniques, skills & styles; discovering the possibilities - and how to avoid the pitfalls - of a variety of drawing and painting mediums, you will develop the confidence to apply these in your own work.
2 hours per week: group tutorial followed by practical work with tailored, individual guidance from the tutor, as and when required.
Cost:
£25* The first class of the course can be booked as a one-off/stand-alone Introductory Workshop
Then, when you realise how much you love it, you can book the rest of the course for £60* (if there are places available)
£75* only if you book the full 5-week course
We have created this structure mainly in response to queries from shift workers wo can’t attend all the classes within a course due to their work pattern.

-
Students are respectfully requested to arrive and depart on time: classes will not delay the start due to time constraints and out of courtesy to those who arrived in good time. It is not possible to stay on beyond the end of the class to "catch up" or finish off your work. Thank you for your co-operation.
-
Courses or Workshops booked in error: please contact Hands-on Art as soon as possible and we will do our best to help. However, an admin fee applies to change dates/course/workshop. For example,
-
Scenario A: if you book the Autumn Term afternoon course instead of the Autumn Term evening course and wish to swap your booking to the evening course: this will not be possible if, in the meantime, all places on the evening course are booked up. In this case you will receive a refund of the course fee minus a £50 admin fee. If a place is available on the Autumn Term evening course, there will be an admin fee due of £50 to make the swap, before your place is confirmed.
-
Scenario B: if you book the Autumn Term afternoon course but meant to book the Spring Term afternoon course and wish to swap your booking to the Spring Term afternoon course, this will not be possible if, in the meantime, all places on the Spring Term afternoon course are booked up. If a place is available on the Spring Term afternoon course, there will be an admin fee due of £50 to make the swap, before your place is confirmed.
-
Health & Safety: We are relying on each student to take personal and collective responsibility by absenting themselves from the Studio if: they have Covid-19 or flu symptoms, have tested positive for Covid, or have been in close contact with someone who has since tested positive for Covid-19.
Cancellation Policy:
We require 6 students for the course/workshop to go ahead, this directly dictates any cancellation request as described below.
-
If less than 6 students book onto an advertised course/workshop: the tutor will make the decision whether or not to run the course two weeks before the start date. If the decision is made to cancel the course/workshop, students who have booked on will be offered the choice of: deferring to the next advertised course/workshop or, a full refund. If the decision is made to run the course/workshop, the policy outlined below stands.
-
Course/Workshop Purchase payments cannot be returned or refunded: Hands-on Art is committed to providing your course/workshop.
-
Unattended classes within the purchased course: cannot be refunded as the class will have gone ahead as planned; cannot be transferred to another course to "catch up" or transferred to someone else in your place for that occasion.
-
If Hands-on Art Adventures cancel a class within your course: you will be offered an alternative date.
-
If a class or course is cancelled by external circumstances/governing or official bodies eg. closure of the Studio by the Government due to the outbreak of a pandemic: you will be offered an alternative date for the course, class within a course or workshop that you booked.
