Booking Terms & Conditions:

These Terms & Conditions are at the discretion of Hands-on Art Adventures and are subject to change at any point, without notice, to ensure the smooth planning, organisation and running of your booked activity.

  • Full payment is required in advance by each student, please ensure you enter your name and contact number on the PayPal booking form.

  • For Adult/Parent & Child workshops: children must be age 7yrs+ (in Year 3 at school) otherwise they will struggle with the skills and techniques involved, please do not book younger children onto these workshops as they will not be able to attend.

  • Course/Workshop Certificates are valid for the dates specified at point of purchase, as shown on your payment confirmation.

  • Course/Workshop Purchase payments cannot be returned or refunded unless the course/workshop is cancelled by Hands-on Art. For full details of our Cancellation Policy please see below.

  • Unattended classes within the purchased course and unattended workshops: cannot be refunded, or transferred to another course or student. Please see the Cancellation Policy below.

  • Each Course/Workshop Purchase Certificate contains a unique ID and can only be used once by the named recipient for the course date specified on the Certificate.

  • Course/Workshop Purchase Certificate must be printed off or could be displayed on your mobile device to be redeemed on the start date of your booked course.

  • Hands-on Art will not accept liability for lost, stolen or damaged purchase Course/Workshop Certificates.

  • Course/Workshop Certificates cannot be converted into cash.

  • Students are expected to clear up their area, joint areas and any tools, equipment & materials used during each class within the course/when attending a workshop, during the 15 minutes before the class/workshop ends. This is all part and parcel of working in a practical environment and is not the sole responsibility of the tutor when everyone has gone.

  • Students are respectfully requested to arrive and depart on time: classes/workshops will not delay the start due to time constraints and out of courtesy to those who arrived in good time. It is not possible to stay on beyond the end of the class/workshop to "catch up" or finish off your work. Thank you for your co-operation.

  • End of term coursework will be ready for collection a minimum of two weeks after the final class, during Studio opening hours Wed to Sat 10am-5pm* (subject to change). You will receive an email when coursework items/workshop projects have been fired and are available for collection. Please wait for this email before popping over to collect to avoid disappointment. Please collect promptly as we cannot store it for you once the next course starts. It is not possible to collect completed coursework during a subsequent course that you are not booked on to. Please bring suitable containers/packaging to take your work home in - this is not provided by Hands-on Art and is not included in the cost of your course.

Cancellation Policy:

  • We require 6 students for the course or workshop to go ahead, this directly dictates any cancellation request as described below.

  • If less than 6 students book onto an advertised course or workshop: the tutor will make the decision whether or not to run the course one month before the start date.  If the decision is made to cancel the course or workshop due to insufficient numbers: students will be offered the choice of deferring to the next advertised course or workshop or, a full refund.  If the decision is made to run the course or workshop with less than 6 students, the policy outlined below stands.

  • Course and Workshop Purchase payments cannot be returned or refunded unless the course or workshop is cancelled by Hands-on Art.

  • Course or workshops booked in error: please contact Hands-on Art as soon as possible and we will do our best to help. For example:

  1. If you book the Autumn Term morning course instead of the Autumn Term evening course and wish to swap your booking to the evening course: this will not be possible if, in the meantime, all places on the evening course are booked up. In this case you will receive a refund of the course fee minus a £50 admin fee. If a place is available on the Autumn Term evening course, there will be an admin fee due of £50 to make the swap, before your place is confirmed.

  2. If you book the Autumn Term morning course but meant to book the Spring Term morning course and wish to swap your booking to the Spring Term morning course, this will not be possible if, in the meantime, all places on the evening course are booked up. In this case you will receive a refund of the course fee minus a £50 admin fee. If a place is available on the Spring term morning course, there will be an admin fee due of £50 to make the swap, before your place is confirmed.

  • Unattended classes within a purchased course and/or unatteded workshops:

  1. cannot be refunded as the class/workshop will have gone ahead as planned;

  2. cannot be transferred to another course or student. Additional classes/"catch up time" are not available.

  • If Hands-on Art Adventures cancels a class within your course/your wokshop: you will be offered an alternative date.

  • If a class within a course, a course or a workshop is cancelled by external circumstances/governing or official bodies eg. closure of the Studio by the Government due to exceptional circumstances eg, the outbreak of a pandemic, enforced lockdown as a control measure, or similar - students will be offered an alternative date for the class or course.

Health & Safety

Here at Hands-on Art we have done as much as we can to maintain a safe environment for both the students and tutor.  We have put the following measures in place and thank you for your support…

  • We are relying on each student to take personal and collective responsibility by absenting themselves from the Studio if: they have Covid-19 or flu symptoms, have tested positive for Covid, or have been in close contact with someone who has since tested positive for Covid-19.

  • The Studio washroom has soap and hot water - you are invited to wash your hands as often as necessary during each class and before leaving.  Please wash your hands thoroughly before and after using the toilet.

  • Personal equipment: all students will be provided with a basic personal equipment kit, to be thoroughly cleaned and dried at the end of each class then stored in a labelled ziplock bag ready for your next class.

  • Shared equipment: all students are asked to clean any tools or equipment used during the class, so that it is ready for future use.

  • Students are respectfully requested to be actively aware of each other’s personal space, belongings, tools and equipment in use and coursework, when moving around the Studio.

  • Luckily all of the above is mostly common sense and will happen naturally.  We have enjoyed friendly, supportive student groups in the past and look forward to maintaining this going forward.
